Who better to pay tribute to Pablo Milanés than his own daughter?
Haydée Milanés grew up listening to her father sing and play the guitar; Likewise, on several occasions he saw him compose songs. From a very young age, she also attended his concerts and had the opportunity to witness many gatherings that took place at home, where great musicians gathered to play traditional Cuban trova and son songs.
All that experience in her childhood forged in her a great interest in music.
Haydée has found her space, her own place in music, where her voice directs in a delicate and personal way any song she takes as her own. His voice has sweetness, but at the same time determination and wisdom. By approaching the songs of their father, Pablo Milanés, and having done it with him, together they have created something new, something that is a shared territory, where their voices, the mature one of the father, the young and wise one of the daughter, They create those songs again, which are part of the emotional memory of so many of us, spread throughout Latin America and the world. We are very happy to welcome Haydée to Recoletos Jazz, singing a heartfelt tribute to her father.
