The double bassist Javier Colina and the Cuban pianist Cucurucho Valdés meet to pay a heartfelt tribute to the great Bebo Valdés, in the year of his tenth death anniversary. The double bassist Javier Colina and the Cuban pianist Cucurucho Valdés meet to pay a heartfelt tribute to the great Bebo Valdés, in the year of his tenth death anniversary. For this project, they recover part of the repertoire recorded as a duo by Bebo Valdés and Javier Colina at the prestigious Village Vanguard in New York, also including other songs from the Cuban popular heritage, as well as some original compositions that have in common old musical textures from the Caribbean island. . Javier Colina worked for more than a decade with Bebo Valdés, with whom he built a deep artistic and personal relationship over the years. Of his numerous encounters in various musical scenes, his collaboration as a quartet on the Lagrimas Negras album stands out, along with Diego el Cigala (2003) and Bebo Valdés and Javier Colina. Live at the Village Vanguard" (2005) Cucurucho Valdés has been part of musical groups of various styles from an early age. Among his recordings, those made with Isaac Delgado, El Cigala, Oscar de León, Chucho Valdés and of course his grandfather: Bebo Valdés stand out.
