Mû Mbana is an endless web of cultural crossroads, so his music goes beyond the mix of jazz, traditional music, electronic music or spoken word. His music is made of moments, of modal plains and of mountainous harmonic constructions. Of intimacy, of extroversion, of shyness, of dance, of melancholy and of celebration. Mû's music cannot be explained. It is heard. It is observed. It is lived. On this occasion we will be able to do so at Recoletos Jazz. Mû Mbana is a native of the island of Bolama, in Guinea-Bissau. He is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and poet and grew up influenced by the religious chants of the women of the Brame (Mancanha) and Bijagos (Bidjugu) ethnic groups. Today he is an established artist, with a vast and eclectic career that includes 10 albums already released and a long list of concerts on stages in Europe, Africa and America.
